Raising awareness of recycling on Brighton’s seafront - Every Can Counts

WHAT DID WE DO

CASE STUDY - RAISING AWARENESS OF RECYCLING ON BRIGHTON'S SEAFRONT

Not-for-profit recycling initiative, Every Can Counts, challenged us with raising awareness of recycling in littering hotspots across the UK, achieving coverage and raising brand awareness across national, regional and broadcast media.

During the coronavirus lockdown period, Every Can Counts found that littering in summer hotspots across the UK hit an all-time high. During this time, Brighton, one of the UK’s most popular beachfronts, saw some of its largest littering figures with 11 tonnes of rubbish collected from the beach in just one day. To raise awareness of recycling, and to pay tribute to key workers and their services throughout lockdown, ECC built a rainbow archway, constructed from recycled cans, and popped it up for a two week period on Brighton Seafront. On the launch day, SEC Newgate arranged a press photocall and broadcast interviews to help launch the archway to regional, national and broadcast media.
