Last week saw the launch of the inaugural SEC Newgate Global ESG Monitor, a ground-breaking research project across 10 countries that examines how environment, social and governance issues are influencing perceptions of business and governments.

Today we are delighted to share the UK version of the report, which finds:

  • More than half (51%) of consumers say they are strongly interested in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues
  • Two fifths (39%) of consumers are prepared to consider direct action if corporates fail to meet ethical and sustainability standards
  • Findings set a clear agenda for business and governments as we head into COP26
