Newgate Communications, has been appointed to manage the global communications for a trio of brands within the FTSE 100-listed property developer, The Berkeley Group.

Following a competitive pitch process, the specialist property team has been brought on board to elevate the communications for the St James, St William and Berkeley Homes Eastern Counties divisions, with a combined portfolio of major developments and regenerations projects across London, the Home Counties and the South East.

One of the leading developers in the UK, and largest in London, The Berkeley Group has been building homes and neighbourhoods for over 40 years. Newgate will be managing a global campaign to communicate the brand values of St James, St William and Berkeley Homes Eastern Counties and build positive and distinctive profiles for the individual residential and mixed-use projects across their portfolios. The brief covers community engagement, placemaking and sales support for over 15 development and regeneration projects in the first year.

The appointment comes after significant growth for the consultancy’s property division, which is now the largest specialist real estate communications team in the UK.

Debbie Standen, partner at Newgate Communications: “We are incredibly proud to represent such a brand; this win is a testament to the quality and diversity of the team we have built here.”

Newgate Communications is a collective of talented individuals, together offering unrivalled strategic expertise and technical knowledge in corporate brand, luxury and residential property, commercial real estate, local political and community engagement, and private equity.

Standen continues: “We are in a unique and increasingly sought-after position to be able to support the full lifecycle of our clients’ property developments. From planning and community engagement, to construction and placemaking, through to sales and lettings: the expertise is now all under one roof. This was a key factor to our appointment – our comprehensive knowledge of what is a complex sector and the flexibility to move between these specialisms as needed throughout what can be up to a 20 or 30 year project.”

The agency provides fully integrated PR support to property clients across office space, mixed-use and residential developers; housing associations; infrastructure and transport; housebuilders; construction firms; proptech companies; REITs, investment companies and consultancies; agents; landowners and landlords.
