The SEC Newgate AI Weekly
Welcome to this weeks AI briefing, giving you the most interesting developments in AI over the past seven days.
ChatGPT unleashed: ChatGPT can how access up to date information
We work with a number of AI tools, and one of the most restrictive challenges with using one of the most prominent, ChatGPT, was that it was previously trained only using data up to September 2021.
This is no longer the case, meaning premium users can now use the tool to ask it anything about current affairs and news. This offers up a whole range of new possibilities, including for some of the reputational services that we offer here at SECNewgate. As always get in touch if you would like to know more.
Are we witnessing a race to the bottom?
We reported in this newsletter in March that leading figures had signed a letter asking for a pause in AI development to help understand the potential risks to humanity. Have they done this? AI can help us talk to animals: I thought I was the only one!
Other than those of us that already have deep and meaningful conversations with our household pets, AI can potentially now offer the opportunity for humans to converse with animals. Aza Raskin, one of the founders of the nonprofit Earth Species Project, believes that machine learning can finally let us decipher each species noises and what they mean.
How do you do, fellow kids? Meta launches AI chatbots for Gen Z.

They are rumoured to be launching these at this weeks Meta Connect event, and appears to be one of Meta’s big attempts to woo more younger users from platforms like TikTok.
