Joe is a public affairs and communications expert, advising clients across a range of sector on issues ranging from political engagement and profile raising to crisis communications and issue management.
He has an excellent track record working in lobbying and PR on behalf of business groups, leading on Institute for Family Business (IFB) account team after being seconded to the client as public affairs manager in 2021. As part of his role, Joe regularly engaged with members on the challenges they were facing, providing strategic advice and insight to the IFB’s policy committee and member meetings.
Working with the IFB, Joe has played a crucial role in the creation and delivery of Family Business Week – a week-long celebration of the family business sector, with set piece events in Parliament, with business groups, and supportive comments and insights across national and local press. Family Business Week 2021 would go on to be shortlisted for the Trade Association Campaign of the Year at the PRCA’s Public Affairs Awards.
He was part of the SEC Newgate crisis team which advised the UK branch of the Todd Boehly consortium throughout the successful acquisition of Chelsea Football Club, engaging with key Ministers, and local and national political stakeholders. He also has experience of crisis communications briefs for large multinational companies.
Joe also leads SEC Newgate’s charity committee, working with organisations such as Speakers Trust and I Have A Voice and using our expertise, knowledge and insight to support causes helping young people to become interested in politics. Joe is also a member of the PRCA’s NextGen Committee, representing SEC Newgate in tackling some of the major challenges facing the public affairs and communications industry.
